|Paul Rodgers - Managing Director|
Paul Rodgers was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he won the Patrick Purcell prize for Best Orchestral Player 1974 and the Harold Craxton Prize for Chamber Music in 1975. He came to South Africa in 1976.
He has been the Principal Bassoonist of the Durban Symphony Orchestra and the PACT Symphony Orchestra, and was the Principal Bassoonist of the National Symphony Orchestra of the SABC (NSO) from 1982 until they were disbanded in January 2000. He also sat on the Board of Directors of the NSO.
Paul was also the Manager and Principal Bassoonist of the Transvaal Chamber Orchestra. He is a staff member of Pretoria University and an external examiner for UNISA. At present Paul is Principal Bassoonist and Managing Director of the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra. In 1997, Paul was made an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music.
Paul is married to Gill and has two children Gideon and Leigh.
He is a South African Citizen.
